The Jet Black Weighted Fleece Hoodie is a heavyweight hoodie in the truest sense: dense 450 GSM brushed fleece, a structured double-layer hood and a body that keeps its shape instead of sagging after a week.
Weight you can feel on the hanger
There is a simple test for a serious hoodie: pick it up by one shoulder. If the whole garment droops, the fleece is light. This one holds its form, because the cloth is genuinely heavy and the hood has a structure of its own.
That weight changes the way the garment behaves. It hangs cleanly instead of clinging, it keeps the shoulder line sharp, and it stays warm without needing an extra layer underneath. It also means the hoodie gets better with wear rather than thinner.
The fabric: 450 GSM brushed fleece
The interior is brushed to a dense, soft pile that feels warm the moment you put it on. The face is smooth and matte, which gives the colour its depth: dark shades look inky rather than flat, and light shades look solid rather than washed out.
The fleece is pre-shrunk and anti-pilling, so the length and the surface stay consistent. The yarn is knitted at a tight gauge, which is why the cloth blocks wind better than a standard sweatshirt.
It is warm, but not airless. The knit allows some breathability, so the hoodie works indoors as well as out, which is more than most heavyweight fleece can claim.
Construction and finish
The hood is the detail that separates a real hoodie from a sweatshirt with a hood sewn on. Here it is a double-layer construction with a defined shape, finished with metal eyelets and flat, colour-matched drawcords that will not fray at the ends.
The kangaroo pocket is deep enough to be useful, bar-tacked at the corners so it does not tear away, and set low enough that your hands sit naturally. The ribbing at the cuffs and hem is tight and colour-matched, which keeps the silhouette from ballooning.
- Double-layer structured hood
- Metal eyelets and flat colour-matched drawcords
- Bar-tacked kangaroo pocket corners
- Tight colour-matched ribbing
Fit and sizing
This is a relaxed fit: roomy through the chest and shoulders with a straight body that ends just below the hip. It is designed to layer, so if you plan to wear it over a hoodie-sized sweatshirt or a thick shirt, your usual size will work. For a closer fit, size down.
Sizes S through XXL. Measurements are taken flat from the finished garment.
- S – chest 42 in, length 27 in
- M – chest 44 in, length 28 in
- L – chest 46 in, length 29 in
- XL – chest 48 in, length 30 in
- XXL – chest 50 in, length 31 in
Styling Jet Black
Jet black is the most disciplined colour in any collection: it hides the seams of a long day, works with every shoe you own, and never looks out of place in a photograph.
Wear it with baggy denim and a plain tee, or over a collared shirt for something sharper. The heavyweight cloth means it holds a clean line even when it is worn open over layers.
Care
Wash cold, inside out, and resist the dryer: heat is what flattens brushed fleece and shrinks drawcords. Hang it to dry in the shade and it will keep both its weight and its softness.
Avoid fabric softener, which coats the pile, and do not iron directly onto the fleece or the eyelets.
- Cold wash, inside out
- Hang dry, never tumble
- No fabric softener
- No direct iron on fleece or eyelets

The AWFIN promise
A heavyweight hoodie is the most expensive essential in a wardrobe, and the easiest to fake with a lighter fleece and a bigger label. We kept the weight and the finishing honest.
Wear it hard. It is built for that.
Heavyweight, but wearable
The worry with a 450 GSM hoodie is that it becomes a garment for cold rooms only. This one is cut with a relaxed body and a hood that holds its shape, so it works as an outer layer in mild weather and as a mid-layer under a coat when it gets colder.
Because the cloth is dense, it does not cling or show the outline of whatever is underneath, which is the main reason heavy fleece looks more considered than light fleece.
Choosing between two sizes
If you want the intended relaxed fit, take your usual size. Size down for a closer fit through the body, or up if you plan to wear it over a thick sweatshirt or prefer the oversized look.
The hood is generously sized, which is worth knowing if you wear caps: it fits over one comfortably, but a close-fitting hood it is not.
Questions we get asked
Will the drawcords fray? They are flat-woven and finished at the ends rather than cut and knotted, so they hold their shape with use.
Does it shrink? The fleece is pre-shrunk, and cold washing keeps it that way. Hot washing and tumble drying are the only ways to lose length.
Is it too warm for indoor wear? In air conditioning it is comfortable; in a hot room it is not. That is the trade-off of genuine 450 GSM cloth.
Can the pocket hold a phone? Yes, comfortably, and the corners are bar-tacked so the weight does not tear the stitching.
Why heavyweight fleece costs more
Fleece is priced by weight, and 450 GSM uses roughly a third more yarn than the 320 to 350 GSM cloth most high-street hoodies are cut from. That extra yarn is why the garment holds its shape, blocks wind and keeps the hood standing up instead of folding flat behind the neck.
The finishing costs more too: a double-layer hood takes twice the fabric, metal eyelets cost more than stitched holes, and colour-matched drawcords mean a separate dye lot for every shade. None of that is visible on a product photograph, which is why it is usually the first thing removed to hit a price.
Ordering, packaging and after-sales support
Every order is folded, wrapped and sealed in a protective parcel before it leaves the studio. If you are buying as a gift, message the team on WhatsApp after checkout and they will leave the invoice out and add a handwritten note at no extra cost.
Once the parcel is with the courier you will receive a confirmation, and the team can track it for you on request. If something arrives damaged, or the item is not what you ordered, send a photograph within 48 hours and a replacement or refund will be arranged without argument.
Questions before you buy are just as welcome as questions afterwards. Sizing, colour matching, fabric weight, bulk orders for a family occasion or a corporate run: the same team answers all of it, usually within a few hours during business days.
