Description

The Maroon Premium Solid T-Shirt is the kind of garment that earns its place by never asking for attention. It is cut from 220 GSM compact combed cotton, finished with a clean shoulder line and a hem that sits where it should, so it works under a jacket on Monday and on its own on Saturday. This is not a promotional blank with a label sewn in; it is a solid-colour shirt built to be worn until the colour itself becomes part of your wardrobe’s history.

Why a solid tee is harder to make than it looks

Printed shirts hide their flaws behind artwork. A solid tee has nowhere to hide: every seam, every uneven stitch tension and every half-degree of collar twist is visible the moment the garment is on a body. That is why this shirt is built around the fabric first and the cut second. The cotton is combed to remove short fibres before spinning, which leaves a smoother yarn, less surface fuzz and a hand-feel that stays soft instead of turning scratchy after a few washes.

The yarn is then knitted at a controlled tension so the cloth keeps its body. Too loose and the shirt clings and shows every crease; too tight and it feels stiff and hot. At 220 GSM the fabric holds a straight line down the torso without feeling like a shell, which is the balance most people are actually looking for when they say a tee ‘fits well’.

The fabric: 220 Gsm compact combed cotton

Compact combing is the reason this shirt feels denser than its weight suggests. Short fibres are stripped out before the yarn is spun, so the surface stays smooth and the cloth resists the pilling that makes cheap cotton look tired within a season. The result is a fabric that drapes cleanly, breathes in Bangladeshi humidity and still looks presentable after a long day.

The cotton is pre-shrunk and colour-locked before cutting. That matters more than it sounds: it means the shirt you receive is the size it will stay, and the colour you chose is the colour it will still be in six months. Nothing is more frustrating than a garment that fits beautifully on day one and turns into a crop top by the third wash.

Because the surface is bio-washed rather than chemically softened, the softness is permanent instead of a coating that rinses away. You will notice it most at the collar and cuffs, the two places where cheap cotton usually announces itself first.

Construction details you can feel

Every stress point is reinforced. The shoulder seams are taped from the inside, which stops the classic stretch-and-slump that happens when a heavy cotton tee is pulled on and off hundreds of times. The neck rib is knitted separately and set with a twin-needle stitch so it keeps its shape instead of waving after the first wash.

The side seams are joined with a flat, even stitch and the hem is double-turned, so it will not curl. These are the details nobody notices on a hanger and everybody notices after a year of wear.

  • Taped shoulder seams for shape retention
  • Twin-needle ribbed collar that resists stretching
  • Double-turned hem that will not curl
  • Side-seam construction for a straight drape

Fit and sizing

This is a straight, regular cut: close enough at the chest to look deliberate, roomy enough at the waist to sit down comfortably, and long enough in the body to stay tucked if you want it to. The sleeve ends just above the elbow crease, which keeps the arm looking long rather than swamped.

It runs true to size for most people. If you are between sizes or prefer an oversized look, size up; if you want a close, vintage fit, stay with your usual size. Sizes run S through XXL, and the measurements are taken flat from the finished garment rather than from a pattern, so what you measure is what you get.

  • S – chest 38 in, length 27 in
  • M – chest 40 in, length 28 in
  • L – chest 42 in, length 29 in
  • XL – chest 44 in, length 30 in
  • XXL – chest 46 in, length 31 in

Styling Maroon

Maroon sits between wine and brick, so it flatters warm and neutral skin tones alike. It is the colour most likely to be called out as a compliment in a room of grey and black.

Wear it with dark denim and a plain white trainer for the simplest version of the look, or under an open overshirt when the evening cools. Because the colour is solid and the cut is clean, it layers without adding bulk, which is more than can be said for most heavyweight tees.

Care that keeps the colour

Wash cold, inside out, with similar colours. Skip the dryer if you can; hanging it in the shade keeps both the fit and the finish. If you must tumble dry, use the lowest setting and take it out slightly damp.

Do not bleach, and avoid fabric softener, which coats the fibres and reduces the breathability you paid for. A warm iron on the reverse is fine if you want a crisper line, though the fabric is designed to fall smooth on its own.

  • Machine wash cold, inside out
  • Hang dry in shade
  • No bleach, no fabric softener
  • Warm iron on the reverse if needed

Delivery, payment and exchange

Orders inside Dhaka usually arrive within 24 to 48 hours, and outside Dhaka within two to four working days. Cash on delivery is available nationwide, so you can inspect the parcel at your doorstep before you pay. Delivery is 70 taka inside Dhaka and 130 taka outside.

If the fit is not right, a size exchange is available within seven days as long as the shirt is unworn and the tags are intact. Message the team on WhatsApp and they will arrange the swap rather than leaving you to sort it out alone.

The AWFIN promise

AWFIN exists to make solid-colour essentials that do not need a logo to justify their price. That means real fabric weights, honest measurements and a finish that survives daily wear. Every shirt is checked before it is packed, and the team stands behind what leaves the studio.

If something is not right, tell us. A garment is only as good as the shop that stands behind it, and a plain tee is the easiest thing in the world to get wrong.

How the weight behaves across the year

At 220 GSM this is a true three-season tee in Bangladesh. Through summer it stays light enough to wear on its own in the afternoon, and in winter it works as the base layer under a shirt, sweatshirt or jacket without adding bulk at the shoulder.

That range comes from the compact spin rather than a heavy coating. The cloth breathes when it is warm and holds a little warmth when it is cool, which is why the same shirt tends to stay in rotation twelve months a year instead of being packed away.

Choosing between two sizes

If your chest measures on the boundary between two sizes, decide by how you intend to wear it. Sizing down gives you a cleaner line under a jacket and a slightly shorter hem; sizing up gives you the relaxed look and enough room for the fabric to drape rather than cling.

One practical note: this cotton has very little mechanical stretch, so a shirt that is tight across the chest will stay tight. Measure a tee you already like, flat, from armpit to armpit, and compare it with the chart above rather than relying on the label.

Questions we get asked

Will it shrink? No. The fabric is pre-shrunk before cutting, and cold washing keeps it that way. If you wash hot and tumble dry, you are reintroducing the shrinkage we removed, which is true of every cotton garment.

Is the white see-through? The 220 GSM weight is dense enough to be opaque, and white is dyed to a clean, warm tone rather than an optic white that goes grey quickly.

Can it be worn tucked in? Yes. The body length is cut to stay tucked through normal movement, and the side seams are straight enough that it does not bunch at the waist.

Does the collar lose shape? The rib is knitted and set with a twin-needle stitch specifically to resist that, though washing it inside out and skipping the dryer will help any ribbed collar last longer.

Ordering, packaging and after-sales support

Every order is folded, wrapped and sealed in a protective parcel before it leaves the studio. If you are buying as a gift, message the team on WhatsApp after checkout and they will leave the invoice out and add a handwritten note at no extra cost.

Once the parcel is with the courier you will receive a confirmation, and the team can track it for you on request. If something arrives damaged, or the item is not what you ordered, send a photograph within 48 hours and a replacement or refund will be arranged without argument.

Questions before you buy are just as welcome as questions afterwards. Sizing, colour matching, fabric weight, bulk orders for a family occasion or a corporate run: the same team answers all of it, usually within a few hours during business days.
